University of Chicago Center for Parkinson's Disease and Movement
Disorders is a collaboration of physicians, scientists, nurses,
and other medical professionals dedicated to diagnosing, treating,
and advancing the medical forefront of these neurological diseases.

Deparments of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the University of Chicago
have earned a world-wide reputation for scientific innovation and
excellence in patient care.
The missions
of the center include the

- Research in the causes of and treatments for movement disorders.
The center

itself on a multidisciplinary approach to patient care which includes
neurologists, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists, neuropsychologists,
speech pathologies, otolaryngology surgeons, physical therapists,
occupational therapists, and nutritionists.
The
Center for Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders is involved
in a wide array of medical and surgical clinical research projects
which offer patients the opportunity to participate in studies of
new treatments under carefully supervised and closely monitored
circumstances. Of particular importance to our patients is the fact
that scientific advances made throughout the University are readily
and regularly available for translation into patient care.
